Warmest regards,
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 7th ASEAN Ophthalmology Society (AOS) Congress, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. Following the resounding success of the 6th AOS Congress in Manila in 2023, we are excited to bring together ophthalmologists and eye care professionals from across the ASEAN region for another landmark event.
Since its establishment over a decade ago, the ASEAN Ophthalmology Society (AOS) has served as a vital platform for fostering collaboration among ophthalmologists from the 10 ASEAN member countries—Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Representing a combined population of 655 million people (8.5% of the world’s population), ASEAN is one of the fastest-growing economic regions globally, making this congress a key event for advancing eye care across the region.
Let’s come together to make the 7th AOS Congress a resounding success. Mark your calendars and join us in Brunei this November 2025!
I look forward to connecting with you.
Best regards

The ASEAN Ophthalmology Society (AOS) is a regional organization that unites ophthalmologists across Southeast Asia to advance the practice of eye care through collaboration, education, and innovation.
Since its founding, the AOS has worked to strengthen professional ties among its member countries, promote high standards in clinical practice and research, and address the region’s unique ophthalmic challenges.
Through its biennial congresses and various collaborative initiatives, the AOS provides a platform for knowledge exchange, professional development, and regional cooperation.
Previous congresses have been hosted across ASEAN member states, each gathering leading experts, young ophthalmologists, and allied health professionals to share the latest advancements, foster research collaborations, and develop strategies to improve eye health for all communities across Southeast Asia.
In line with its mission to build future leaders in eye care, AOS has recently launched a Research Development Programme to support young ophthalmologists and trainees across the region in building research capacity, promoting innovation, and fostering cross-border collaboration in ophthalmic research.
