Dr. Ruben Lim Bon Siong is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the College of Medicine, University of the Philippines Manila, and Chief of the Cornea and External Eye Disease Division of the Philippine General Hospital.

He completed an ophthalmology residency and External Eye Disease fellowship at the Philippine General Hospital and completed a clinical fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Washington University, St Louis, Missouri, USA. He has a particular interest in cornea and corneal transplantation, external eye diseases and ocular infection, laser refractive surgery, dry eye and ocular surface disease, and anterior segment trauma and has published more than 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals, several book chapters and the senior editor of 3 books.

He is Past President of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology, the Philippine Cornea Society, and ASEAN Ophthalmology Society. He is currently a Council Member of the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, the Asia Cornea Society, and the ASEAN Ophthalmology Society.
