For more than a decade, Danial builds patient-centred vision rehabilitation based on vision science blended with assistive technologies to restore functioning after visual loss and ophthalmic trauma. He is Senior Optometrist at the Low Vision and Vision Rehabilitation Service at the National University Hospital. He is also Adjunct Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and Adviser to the World Health Organization Low Vision Working Group. He co-developed the first multidisciplinary low vision service in a tertiary hospital in Singapore, and his research interests include medical, psychosocial and rehabilitative approaches to visual impairment, disability and health equity. He has presented extensively and is the co-author of Low Vision Care and Practice: A Guide for Clinicians. A graduate of Anglia Ruskin University, Danial was conferred the Singapore National Day Efficiency Medal in 2021.
