Dr. Claire Peterson is the Singapore Young Ophthalmologist (YO) Chair and Associate Consultant and Glaucoma Fellow at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC).
Dr. Peterson trained at SNEC and earned her specialist qualifications from the National University of Singapore and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and was awarded the Harcourt Medal for the highest global FRCOphth Oral score (2023).
She played a leading role in organizing the 2nd and 3rd Global YO Summits in Singapore (2024) and Taiwan (2025), each drawing over 200 participants from more than 20 countries. She also serves on the APAO YO Standing Committee and the AAO YO Editorial Board.
She is active in resident cataract surgery training and global eye health and is leading a mission to Nepal this November. She was awarded the Singhealth Quality Gold Award (2021), APAO Rising Star Award (2023), Singhealth Outstanding Resident Award (2024) and Richard Fan Gold Medal (2025).
