Professor Dr Mae-Lynn Catherine Bastion MBBS (Hons 1) (Sydney Uni Aust) DrOphth (UKM) FRCSG (UK) FAM (Mal) Prof Mae-Lynn Catherine Bastion is a senior consultant ophthalmologist and Professor of Vitreoretina from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

She did her fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at The Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital Singapore in 2007 and heads the Retina unit of the Department of Ophthalmology at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, UKM, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Holder of the Award for Best Clinical teacher twice in 2019 and 2025 from Faculty of Medicine, UKM, her research also received 3 consecutive Silver Awards for best research papers awarded by the College of Ophthalmology @ Academy of Medicine Malaysia (COAMM) from 2022-2024 and the Gold award in 2025.

She is the Scientific Committee Co-Chairperson for the APVRS 2027 Congress. She is a member of the APVRS, APOTS AND APOIS. She also holds the following positions: Vice-President of the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology (2024-2026) and Elected Chairperson of the Retina Chapter of the COAMM (2023-2025).
