Dr. Warapat Wongsawad is a distinguished ophthalmologist specializing in retina and vitreous diseases, with over two decades of clinical and academic leadership in Thailand.
He currently serves as Chief of the Retina and Vitreous Unit at Mettapracharak Eye Hospital and holds key roles in national and regional organizations, including Vice President of the Thai Retina Society and President of the Thai Society of Public Health Ophthalmology. His contributions extend to policy development as a member of the Eye Care Service Plan Committee under the Ministry of Public Health and as Vice Chairman of the Academic Subcommittee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand.
A council member of the ASEAN Ophthalmology Society since 2017, Dr. Wongsawad is also a passionate educator and advocate for equitable eye care. His work bridges clinical excellence, public health, and medical education, making him a leading figure in advancing ophthalmology across Southeast Asia.
