Dr. Wan Haslina Wan Abdul Halim completed her ophthalmology training at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2008 before pursuing a Doctorate in Visual Science at Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom.
She was appointed as a British Contact Lens Association Fellow in 2014 and successfully obtained her PhD in 2017. Her doctoral research focused on corneal biomechanics assessment and its influence on tonometry in normal, glaucoma, and keratoconus populations, conducted in collaboration with the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre.
A dedicated cornea and anterior segment surgeon, Dr. Wan Haslina is highly skilled in cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and ocular surface reconstruction using tissue and stem cell regeneration techniques.
She is actively engaged in research, particularly in clinical trials, corneal transplant, and limbal stem cell regeneration, with a strong track record of publications in WoS- and SCOPUS-indexed journals.
She has previously served as National Head of the National Phacoemulsification Training Committee.
