Suriya is an imaging and biometry specialist with 20 years of professional experience, including 12 years as a dedicated ocularist. She provides comprehensive post-enucleation and post-evisceration rehabilitation, combining the science of ocular and facial prosthetics with functional artistry to restore both form and function.

Her expertise encompasses designing and fabricating iris-painted conformers, customised thin scleral shells, oculoprostheses, symblepharon rings, canthal expansion conformers, and orbital prostheses. Patients benefiting from her care include those with retinoblastoma, ocular trauma, ophthalmic socket anomalies, phthisis bulbi, and ptosis.

Suriya received her foundational ocular prosthesis fabrication training under Dr. Chandrashekar Chawan at Shekar Eye Ocular Prosthesis Lab, Mumbai, India in 2005, followed by advanced training in 2013. She further enhanced her skills in advanced orbital-facial prosthesis at Art Eyes, New Delhi, India in 2025.

In collaboration with oculoplastic surgeons, Dr. Gangadhara Sundar and Dr. Stephanie Young, she is committed to delivering high-quality care and aesthetic satisfaction. A firm believer in continuous learning, she has presented her work at numerous local and international conferences and workshops.
